We have already established models and structures for IT governance, which can be used “as-is” or adapted to customer needs.
To succeed in managing service delivery it is essential to have in place the appropriate governance models. Managing the service portfolio is crucial; no supplier can take over this responsibility because it is inextricably linked to business needs. Management of services and delivery processes, management of supply chains, managing the development and management of applications are also key issues. This means establishing the right functions to determine measures and improvements, investments and digitization work.
All governing functions are dependent on the relevant management information. This requires data collection, measurement and reporting. Much of the data collection and measurements must be established in the agreements with the suppliers. Internally, one must process and analyze this information to become relevant management information. Establishing business focused reporting and management dashboards becomes a central theme to ensure good control, even if the services are produced externally.
