Establishing good processes is an effective way to structure work methods. The objective is to establish good practice and get into a mode of continuous improvement. The methods we use for this are generic. They are effective within IT, but just as well in non-IT.
Along with the processes, one must also define who does what by establishing clear roles with a defined mandate. Defined and relevant quality targets and measurement parameters (KPI), as well as good governance models are just as important as the processes themselves.
We define value chains as several processes interacting for a specific purpose. The definition of priority value chains and management of these often provides equally good effects as the creation of individual processes itself. We have long and broad experience with this work.
